It’s been revealed that Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, thought the script to Ashton Kutcher-led jOBS, a film documenting Steve Jobs’s early career, was “crap.” There was also a clip of the movie, released featuring Kutcher as Jobs and Josh Gad as Wozniak in a heated discussion at a Hewlett-Packard garage. Check out the video below.
In the clip we finally get to see Kutcher in the role. As far as I can see, the ex-That 70′s Show star nails the late Apple CEO in terms of movements but his speech falls a little short. There’s points within the clip that sound like Kelso, which fits the time period but not the role. I think it’s going to be tough for Kutcher to convince viewers he’s the CEO of Apple. Jobs was known for being emotional and ruthless, crying when things didn’t go his way and shouting at employees whom he thought were “bozos.” I’m a big fan of Steve Jobs and I’m eager to see his reality distortion field presented on screen, regardless of Kutcher’s performance.
There’s another movie in the works about Steve Jobs, based on the official biography by Walter Isaacson. It’s a Sony film written by Aaron Sorkin, writer of The Social Network, and Moneyball.
im excited for the movie. We shall see if he’s more Jobs than Kelso when it comes out
